First News Entry/Mission Statement

Welcome To My New Site!
Finally, after months of odious laboring at mastering web page making as well as image editing—and pestering friends for help—my site is at last online! As it says at the top, it is still under construction, so some sections may still be incomplete however. I'm workin' on 'em though, so keep checking the Latest Site Additions: on the right for a listing of updates!

This site came into being due to the fact...
...as I stated back on a March 11, 2000 in this "dummy" news entry:

"First and foremost, I want to give a great big thanks to Duskwalker and his wonderful site Hidden & Dangerous Fanatic for all the ideas and HTML help I got from examining it!

Only the fact of it's becoming out of date is what brought me to think of making this site—otherwise I would have never have even considered attempting it. The reason being exactly this: his site always had EVERYTHING that I ever needed or wanted.... and if it lacked anything, he would not hesitate to add it, in addition, making it wonderfully user-friendly and very easy to read and understand.

His site is still in fact—in the direction of the original H&D—excellently complete. Sadly, he seems to be gone, though anyone who knew him well thinks that if he had left of his own free will, he would have at least said "Good-bye". I agree. I surely hope he is ok!"

Unfortunately my hopes were not fulfilled—in fact, at the very moment I was writing that news entry, Duskwalker was still in an asphyxiation-induced 3-month coma after, in his words, as posted on the TacticalPlanet H&D forum 7/11/00:

"...On January 2, the car I was riding in was struck from the side by a drunk driver..."

In addition to the asphyxiation-induced 3-month coma he also got:

"...a couple broken bones..." and a "..ruptured kidney..."

As my father told me, the likelihood of living through major kidney damage is not very high, and anything "asphyxiation-induced" has the potential, among other things, for messing up the functioning of the muscles—resulting in loss of dexterity.

Many prayers and good thoughts for you Duskwalker, and a speedy recovery! :-)

This site is intended to...
...bring together the best of everything relating to Hidden & Dangerous in a "database" form.

In example, I plan to include links to as many H&D forums as I am aware of with a brief description of the sort of forum it is and the sorts of topics it is best suited for, and also the sorts of players who generally frequent that forum possibly. Also such things as copies of interesting posts from forums (including the names of the poster's as well as any other credits) into a misc. collection for all to enjoy—even after they are no longer available to read on the forum(s) anymore.

I also intend to have as much original content as possible, including overall gameplay strategy and tactics (when I get the time to complete that section), my own personal suggestions for certain mission completion's (walkthroughs), and as many instructions—such as for setting up a multiplayer game—and bug fixes as I am aware of.
